How to apply?

All applications must be made on the ‘Sport Coaching’ application form.

Please check the following criteria to ensure you are eligible to apply:-

  • The qualification / training attained must be used to support the work being done with the club / group / organisation stated on the application form.
  • Applications for funding must be from non-profit making sports clubs whose activities, facilities and success benefits the Letchworth Garden City community.
  • Individuals must have a minimum Level One coaching qualification in the sport you are applying for.
  • Except in relation to ‘Gifted and Talented’ sportsmen and women, an ‘individual’ must be a minimum of 16 years old on the date of the course.
  • The course should not yet have started and must be a National Governing Body approved course.
  • Sports clubs who receive ‘coaching’ grants will seek to form mutual, beneficial relationships with Letchworth Garden City Schools, for example, coaching at schools, sports days or at the sports club itself.

What we don’t fund through Sport Coaching Grants

  • Expenditure already incurred prior to application.
  • ‘Coaching’ does not include CRB checks, First Aid courses or Child Protection Officer training.
  • Travel expenses, accommodation, costs of additional resources are not eligible.
  • Team kit (e.g. shirts)
