Spirella Art ‘Class’
A number of local artists exhibited their works in a special Open Viewing on Monday 4th September at The Spirella Building, as part of the Heritage Foundation's commitment to arts in the world's first Garden City.
Sue Lines (glass and ceramics), Nick Jones (painting), Nigel Carrick (ceramics), Witold Leonowicz (printing) and Vanessa Leonowicz (painting), all displayed their splendid work to the near 100 attendees, invited from across the county.
Alan Howard, Director of Marketing and PR, and Maria Iredale, Arts Development Manager, also gave an update regarding the ongoing refurbishment works of Letchworth Arts Centre in The Arcade, Letchworth Garden City.
Maria said, “It's a great time for arts in the Garden City – the plans for the refurbishment works are well on track, and I hope when Letchworth Arts Centre reopens, the arts community in and around Letchworth Garden City will continue to be as enthusiastic and passionate as everyone has been tonight”.
Sue Lines, Nick Jones and Nigel Carrick, are continuing their exhibition, Inspired by Landscape, at 78 Bedford Road, Letchworth Garden City, on the 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th September between 11am and 4pm.
Witold and Vanessa Leonowicz hold an open studio every Monday and Thursday from 10.30am to 2.30pm, and every Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 4pm, at 20 Pix Road, Letchworth Garden City.
