Blooming Amazing…

LDGA members and Ernest Gardiner's League of Friends representatives with Hospital matron Sheelagh Drury

A plant sale raised a magnificent £2,000 for the Ernest Gardiner Day Hospital in the world's first Garden City.

Letchworth District Gardeners Association has been celebrating its Centenary this year and already held a number of activities to celebrate this particular milestone.

Association members provided plants that they had grown themselves for the Plant Sale, as did Pioneer Nurseries from Willian.

The Association is grateful to everyone who supported the sale.

About Ernest Gardiner Day Hospital

The hospital is unique and the only one of it's kind in the UK . It is not a National Health Service hospital, yet it provides an extremely high level of healthcare in many specialised fields to NHS patients from all backgrounds, free of charge.

The hospital is owned and managed by Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, who meet the running costs of this invaluable resource to Letchworth Garden City and Baldock residents. The League of Friends of the Ernest Gardiner Day Hospital , and other fund-raising events like this successful plant sale, cover the costs of new and replacement equipment, fixtures and fittings.
