LGC Eagles January update

As proud sponsors of the Letchworth Garden City Eagles Football Club, we recieve regular updates from club chairman, Tony Eden. Here's our January update...

"Since I last wrote to you in November the two adult Eagles teams have enjoyed mixed fortunes. The first team has struggled with injuries and suspensions of key players and as a result now lie 6th in the premier division of the Herts Senior County League, but with games in hand over some of the teams above them.

The current position is:

Played 16  won 7  drawn 5  lost 4  goal diff 19  points 26.

We failed to make progress in the Herts Senior Centenary Cup competition when we lost to Met Police Bushey 4-1 away  after extra time, but we remain unbeaten in the Aubrey Cup and Anagram Records Trophy, both of which we won last season.

Our reserve team led by Paul Howard continues its good results and at present they are second in division 1 of the reserve league having won 9 games and lost 2, with a goal difference of 10 and 27 points!

We now look forward to a successful second half of the season. We continue to try and improve our facilities and on 12 January NHDC will decide whether to grant planning permission for the erection of floodlights on our senior pitch.

Thank you for your continued support"
