Sporting grants
Grants towards sports equipment; high-level coaching costs and a popular annual road race have just been awarded by the Heritage Foundation.
Included in the Foundation’s Board recent grant approvals;
- £1,000 to Baldock and District Canoe Club towards purchasing a Canadian Single boat suitable for competition purposes – one club member has recently been selected to represent Scotland in the Pan Celtic Club and will use the new boat. Previous special ‘Sporting Success’ category grants towards the costs of new kayaks and a Double Canadian boat, have been made to the Club by the Foundation
- £720 to Letchworth Garden Eagles for Gary Williams, Training & Development Manager and Josh Bickerstaff, who coaches the Club’s youngest players, to attend comprehensive coaching courses – again under the ‘Sporting Success’ special grants category.
- £1,500 to North Herts Road Runners for the 22nd Standalone10k run on Sunday, October 3. The Foundation has always been a strong supporter of the race, which starts at Standalone Farm, in Wilbury Way:
