Environmental family fun in Letchworth GC Town Centre
Letchworth Garden City will be celebrating all things environmental this Saturday (17 July), with over 12 conservation aware organisations ‘on show’ in the new Leys Square between 10am and 3pm.
The town’s very first ‘Earth Day’ will feature stallholders such as the Shark Trust, HydroActive, North Hertfordshire Beekeepers, Transition Town Letchworth, The Fish Film Company and many more, as well as the regular Farmers’ Market.
There’ll be something for all ages from fun activities for kids, including an ‘Octopus’ Garden’ treasure hunt and face painting, to a live stage featuring an eclectic music programme headlined by world folk sensation Randolph Matthews. Don’t forget to bring your camera for a fun photograph in front of ‘shark infested waters’!
Organised by Denise Poynter of Tuscany Fine Art with Stevenage Underwater Photographic Society in support of its education programme and month-long ‘A Global Walk Underwater’ exhibition at Letchworth Arts Centre in The Arcade. The event’s sponsors include Heritage Lottery and Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation.
