Down Memory Lane!
Reg Pettit is just one of many people who have helped the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Museum by donating photographs and objects and telling them about his wartime experiences.
Reg served his country in many places during World War Two, from Africa to the Middle East and his experiences are just part of the displays at the Museum’s current World War Two exhibition, which is packed full of objects and memories.
At the forthcoming ‘Your War’ Reminiscence Day event this Saturday, the Heritage Museum in Norton Way South, welcomes people to take a trip down Memory Lane.. The Museum invites anyone who lived in Letchworth Garden City during the War, or who was a Letchworthian serving in the Forces during the War, to go and tell them all about it. Perhaps your parent or a relative was and you have some memories of them?
The Museum is asking people to share their memories from 11am to 4pm. Staff will be on hand to listen to your stories, record them, and can scan and return any photos or ephemera you have ‘while you wait’. Then you too, like Reg, can be part of the exhibition!
