Magnet for volunteers
Around 600 visitors attended the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation’s ‘Get Involved’ North Hertfordshire Volunteers Fair at the Spirella Building last weekend.
Stuart Kenny, the Foundation’s Director General, opened the event on the Saturday morning and there were around 50 exhibitors, made up of local clubs and
organisations etc.. that wanted to ‘flag up’ recruitment and awareness opportunities. These included local and national charities, sports and leisure clubs, music and arts societies and clubs for children and teenagers.
Event organiser Sarah Crombie, the Foundation’s Grants Manager, said that the event was “successful as many people were able to discover new activities on their doorstep.”
