At 12.15pm today (Thursday), October 9, the Executive Director of the BBC One Show, rang the Heritage Foundation, to say that because of unexpected problems suddenly coming up with Angellica Bell, the presenter, she now cannot make it into the studio tomorrow night for her ‘live to camera’ piece, so the Letchworth Garden City feature has now been postponed until Wednesday, October 15.

Millions of viewers all over the country who will tune into BBC One, on Wednesday October 15, will see a four and a half minute ‘piece’ on Letchworth Garden City.

Having worked with Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation on the programme over a few weeks prior to sending a film crew for the day’s filming on September 8, the BBC One Show will feature a number of Garden City landmarks in its ‘Claim to Fame’ part of the programme, which is shown only about three times a year.

The nightly weekday programme is hosted by Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley and the on -location presenter for the Letchworth story was Angellica Bell, herself a well-known television presenter of many programmes over the last few years. The story revolves round a journey by Angellica around the Garden City in a 1905 Argyle car – believed to be the only one of its kind in the world.

Stuart Kenny, Director General of the Heritage Foundation, said: “We are very pleased to have worked with the BBC on this popular show . I am sure it will be of as much interest to those people across the country who know little or nothing about our unique Garden City, as it will be Letchworthians.”
