‘Ground Force’ at Hospital

The Gardeners at Ernest Gardiner Day Hospital
The 'major makeover' in progress at Ernest Gardiner Day Hospital, Pearsall Close

A Garden City’s Day Care Hospital was ‘invaded’ by a Stevenage company’s own ‘Ground Force’ team last Wednesday.

With spades, forks etc.. several employees from Tessella on the Meadway Technical Park, in Rutherford Close, set about a major makeover of the Ernest Gardiner Day Hospital’s garden, in Pearsall Close, off Pixmore Way, Letchworth Garden City, as part of its voluntary aid community project scheme.

The Hospital’s League of Friends donated £1,000 for the planting and the makeover included removal of bushes, stones etc.. and the ‘workforce’ was there for most of the day.

Stuart Kenny, Director General of Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation – owners and managers of the hospital – told The Comet: “We are all most grateful to Tessella and its employees for taking the time to help the Ernest Gardiner Day Hospital. A job well done!”
