Rain fails to dampen spirits

Saturday (30 June 2007) saw Letchworth Garden City Town Centre buzzing with shoppers and alive to the flavours of Europe.
Despite yet another day of rain, thousands of visitors turned out to enjoy ‘Letchworth Garden City Goes Continental’. Featuring a continental market along Eastcheap, live music and community stalls in Leys Square, face painters and children’s entertainers, the event offered something for everyone.
The weekend’s events were organised by the Letchworth Arts Centre and the Town Centre Partnership, with the live music stage managed by Bang On It Promotions. Activities were supported by North Hertfordshire District Council, Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation and Garden Square Shopping Centre.
