Why do you give out grants?

Every year we give grants to support Letchworth-based individuals, clubs, organisations and charities that fall within one or more of our charitable commitments. These commitments are positioned to help support local communities and are categorised by:

Education and Learning
Charitable Activities
Recreation and Leisure
Environment and Heritage
Charities
Wellbeing

Providing your application falls within one of these commitments, you have two types of grants on offer:

‘Large grants’ apply if your club or organisation requires financial support of over £5,000. As these grants are a significant amount of money, they require approval from our Board of Management.

‘Small grants’ are for individuals, clubs or organisations who require funds under £5,000. These applications are approved by our Small Grants Committee.

Our financial year runs from 1 October 2011 to 30 September 2012 and this year £135,000 is available (£60,000 for large grants and £75,000 for small grants).
