Playscheme’s ‘wow’ factor…

WOW! The organisers and helpers of the popular Plinstonkids holiday playscheme have been given the official 'thumbs-up'.

Mum Anne Marie Lose of Stevenage was so impressed with the scheme after sending her child to "Plinstonkids" – at the Plinston, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City – she successfully nominated them for a WOW award – part of the National Customer Service Awards.

Anne Marie described the Holiday 'Plinstonkids' playscheme, based at the Broadway venue, as "absolutely fantastic, secure, friendly and professional", and added that she could not recommend a better playscheme to anyone.

During school holidays, 'Plinstonkids' hosts a huge variety of activities, including discos, outings, cookery, theme days, arts and craft, sports, games and lots more.

Regulated by OFSTED, 'Plinstonkids' usually runs at least a five day fully-packed programme during the week and also offers 'early bird' bookings where parents can drop their children off early on the way to work.

Stuart Kenny, Director General of Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, which owns and manages the Plinston, said: "This WOW award is a real testament to the hard work, dedication and innovation of the staff who run this special playscheme which has been around for over 20 years."

* In a recent OFSTED report, the Plinstonkids playscheme was also highly praised. The report stated that the "quality and standards of care are good". Children stay safe because the staff maintains a high level of supervision within the play areas.

* "The committed and dedicated staff team ensure that children benefit and enjoy their time at this welcoming provision."
