All systems go for new Governor
A Letchworthian for 28 years and a former computer systems engineer, has joined the ranks of Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation Governors.
Tony Maynard-Smith, 60, of Broadwater Avenue, was elected after being nominated by Letchworth Arts & Leisure Group in the' Other Recreational Activities' category.
Married with two daughters, who were brought up in the town, Mr Maynard-Smith recently retired from a professional career as a computer systems engineer and technical manager, having worked for ICL (now Fujitsu) in LGC and later in Stevenage.
An active member of Letchworth Arts & Leisure Group and its former Treasurer for 10 years, Mr Maynard-Smith has also been Treasurer of the Hertfordshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre and of a related national charity.
His personal interests include walking, gardening, environmental matters, science and engineering.
