Garden City Heritage Awards

The Salvation Army hall, One of the Garden City Heritage Awards 2011Prestige for Letchworth Garden City Properties

Celebrating architectural excellence within the world’s first Garden City

Letchworth Garden City, the world’s first Garden City, is built on the ideas of Ebenezer Howard and is carefully planned to combine the best elements of town and country living.

It is a very special place with many outstanding qualities, where houses have been designed to harmonise with each other, and architectural features such as chimneys, dormer windows and bay windows add visual interest and variety to the street scene.

We are committed to promoting the conservation of buildings and other environmental features of beauty or historic interest within Letchworth Garden City.

Our Heritage Awards

Recognising the importance of best practice in improving properties in Letchworth Garden City, we like to give public recognition to owners, designers and contractors who observe the highest standards of design and workmanship when carrying out restoration, alterations or new building work.
