Commercial Property - Landlord's Consent

To protect the original concepts of Ebenezer Howard, many commercial properties, held Leasehold, contain management obligations (or covenants) in their deeds. These require the consent of the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation for alterations materially affecting the appearance of the property. These obligations, which are contained in the lease cover a number of areas and you should refer to your lease as to whether or not landlord's consent is required for any proposed alterations you are planning.

As the Foundation acts as the landlord and estate manager, applications for any works as covered in your specific circumstances, must be applied for permission for to the Foundation, as well as to North Hertfordshire District Council in the usual manner for planning permission.
