John Webb has lived in Letchworth since 2000. He seeks to promote the Garden City model of a network of thriving communities. His primary concern is that we should most urgently fulfil the town's iconic status by setting an example of adaptation to 'low carbon' living and local resilience. A Garden City Institute (by whatever name) would promote and co-ordinate that cultural shift across civic/community groups and businesses, government and academia.

His active memberships include:

• Committee member of HertsWithout Waste (Herts.WOW)
• Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS with IBG)
